Man Jumps Into 9/11 Memorial North Pool In New York

In a shocking video going viral, a 33-year-old Manhattan man jumped into the North Pool at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. The incident happened on Monday afternoon. He survived with just a leg injury and was arrested by the police.

At the World Trade Center site, a Port Authority cop spotted a man getting into one of the two-tiered reflecting pools at the memorial.

In the viral video, the man was seen lying in the 18-inch deep water in the pool’s central basin after walking slowly towards it. And then he slowly moved closer to the center and slid head-first into 20 20-foot-deep pool.

It can be seen in the video that he was already bleeding when he slid into the lower part of the pool. Each pool features a 30-foot waterfall and the pair of reflecting pools at the memorial site mark the former footprints of the Twin Towers before they went down during the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.
